Purpose of the course: The learners will acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles underlying current health and safety legislation. Additionally, they will grasp the potential repercussions of non-compliance, which can include financial penalties, industry disqualification, reputation damage, and even endangering lives

In order to receive a “certificate of successful completion”, for Accountability for Managers and Supervisors you need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Attend both 2day course of the program.
  • Upon completing the course, compile and submit a portfolio of evidence that effectively demonstrates your learning.

    Documents and records with reference to legal compliance and corporate governance
    The training required to ensure health and safety in the workplace
    Legal requirements in respect of training
    Duties of employees
    Potential Hazards Personal Protective Equipment Emergency Procedures
    Procedure to apply to illness or injury
  • The learners will be able to explain the basic principles of relevant current health and safety legislation. Additionally, they will understand the consequences of non-compliance, which can include financial penalties, industry disqualification, reputation damage, and even endangering lives

Course outcomes:  Participants on completion of this course will know and understand:
The knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of the relevant legislation.
The requirements for compliance as stipulated in the current legislation.
Legislation mandates management controls for achieving compliance. 
The knowledge and understanding of record keeping required by the legislation.
The legal obligations of the employer in terms of training and communication.
Implications of exposure to hazardous substances
A health and safety program includes hazard identification, risk assessment, and a health and safety plan.
