Purpose of the course:  
The course will provide recognition for individuals who perform or intend to perform one-to-one training on the job. Formal recognition will enhance their employability and also provide a means to identify competent trainers or coaches. 

SAQA unit standard aligned :
Aligned to unit standard 117877 Perform one-to-one training on the job. NQF level 3 is worth 4 credits.

Unit standard 9964 Apply Health and Safety to a work area. NQF level 2 is worth 3 credits.
Course outcomes:  
This unit standard will enable the learner to describe the requirements applicable to a permit to work in terms of hot work; cold work; confined space entry and lockout systems in a work area.

Persons will be able to:
Explain the steps to prepare for a training session
How to conduct training sessions
How to monitor and report on learner progress
Review and evaluate the process of the training session

How to identify potential hazards in the work area and what to do with them.
Implications of exposure to hazardous substances and hazards are known
Content of a health and safety plan.
What a legal compliance audit entails
The use and application of Personal protective equipment
Emergency procedures to limit damage to persons or property in the case of an emergency.
Different fire extinguishers
Procedures to handle injuries, incidents, and illness in the work area.
How Workman’s Compensation works.
