Purpose of the course:
Ohs Introduction for Supervisors, This unit standard is for those people giving an induction of health and safety principles to new personnel and the person credited with this unit standard is able to explain the duties of both the employees and employers with regard to Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace. It will also enable learners to apply basic health and safety legislation in the form of standards and procedures governing health and safety in the workplace, to ensure that they contribute to a safe, healthy environment for themselves and others.

Unit standard 259639 Explain basic health and safety principles in and around the workplace. NQF Level 2 is worth 4 credits.

Unit standard 9964 Apply Health and Safety to a work area. NQF level 2 is worth 3 credits.
