Inspect, care and store fall arrest equipment:
- Firstly, the focus is on the inspection of fall arrest equipment. This is followed by the care of this equipment. Next, we look into the storage of the equipment. After that, we discuss the replacement of fall arrest equipment. Lastly, we delve into the definitions related to this equipment.
- Harness and body belt inspection; Hardware, Lanyards
- Self-retracting lifeline inspection; Examples of improper connections
- Cleaning, maintenance, and storage
- Record keeping: Importance of record keeping, Responsibility
Basic principles of working in elevated positions:
- Inspections: To begin with, we focus on Scaffolding. This is followed by Stairways and ladders. Next, we discuss Walkways in elevated positions. Finally, we delve into Reporting: Purpose of reporting, Responsibility, Structure, Action
- Record keeping: Deviations – Damaged or condemned equipment; Equipment not complying
How to identify potential hazards in the work area and what to do with them:
Procedures to handle injuries, incidents, and illness in the work area

Initially, this theoretical awareness course covers safety measurements regarding Scaffold. Following that, it extends to safety measures for Ladders. Finally, it encompasses Height works in any environment.

Starting with Unit standard 120362, we focus on Monitoring. Next, you will report and make recommendations pertaining to specified requirements in terms of working at heights It’s important to note that this is an NQF level 3 course, worth 4 credits
